The 1-day roundtable strategy meeting held on December 7, 2023 on Women’s Political Participation and Leadership, in partnership with Equality Now, Sida - Styrelsen för Internationellt Utvecklingssamarbete and Solidarity for African Women's Rights (SOAWR) aims to engage in conversations with networks and coalition to strategise ways of enhancing and promoting women's meaningful participation in Nigeria.
The specific objectives of the meeting are:
Highlighting best practices from African countries that have a higher representation of women in politics.
Sharing best practices to change the narrative of poor representation of women in politics and leadership in Nigeria.
To discuss effective strategies for increasing women's participation in the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
