BAOBAB for Women’s Human Rights is a non-governmental organization committed to promoting women's rights, gender equality, and social justice through advocacy, capacity building, research, and strategic partnerships. The organization works to advance the protection of women’s rights within the framework of cultural, religious, and legal contexts.

 

Position Summary

The Admin and Accounts Officer will provide financial management and administrative support to ensure efficient office operations and compliance with organizational and donor requirements.

The role involves managing financial records, supporting project accounting, coordinating administrative processes, and maintaining effective communication with staff, vendors, and partners.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.

  • Prepare financial reports and assist in budget monitoring for organizational and project activities.

  • Process payments, reimbursements, and vendor transactions in line with financial policies.

  • Manage expense tracking, cashbooks, and financial reconciliations.

  • Support payroll processing and staff financial records.

  • Ensure compliance with donor and organizational financial regulations.

 

Administrative Management

  • Oversee day-to-day office administrative operations.

  • Manage office equipment, supplies, and logistics.

  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and organizational events.

  • Support travel arrangements and logistics for staff and partners.

  • Maintain proper filing systems for administrative and financial documents.

Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise with program teams to support project implementation and financial reporting.

  • Maintain communication with vendors, consultants, and partner organizations.

  • Support management with administrative documentation and reports.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure financial and administrative documentation complies with internal policies and donor requirements.

  • Maintain organized records for audits and reporting purposes.

  • Support preparation of documentation for donor reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certification or progress toward certification such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) will be an advantage.

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in finance and administrative roles.

  • Experience working with NGOs or development organizations is an advantage.

 

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong financial management and accounting skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Good organizational and administrative skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
