Position: Programme Assistant
Location: Abuja, Nigeria.
Contract Type: Full-Time
Baobab for Women’s Human Rights (BAOBAB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through the actualisation of their rights under Nigeria’s distinct legal systems.
The Programme Assistant will contribute to programme development and implementation; mobilisation of resources; project management, reporting and evaluation; budgeting and communication, in line with the mandate of the organisation.
Requirements:
This exciting opportunity is for an experienced candidate with substantial knowledge, expertise and programmatic experience in ending violence against women, young women’s empowerment, women’s rights in the world of work, and improving women’s political participation and leadership.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of the courses in the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, and Education.
- A minimum of one (1) year of prior work in a similar position within a nonprofit organization addressing women’s human rights issues.
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of current issues, trends, dynamics of networks and feminist movements.
- Solid understanding of the state of women’s human rights in Nigeria.
- Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking skills, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fluid and fast paced work environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and accomplish short, medium and long-term goals.
- Openness to robust debate, and a good sense of humour will be valuable.
