Women in Power and Decision Making

The need to have women in leadership and decision-making position cannot be overemphasized. It is very important to have female leaders who represent women at the top level and partake in the decision-making process that benefits women and girls at large. Today, there is a gross gender gap between men and women, especially in political representation, economic management, and leadership. As a result of this, women are under-represented at the top level and in decision-making spaces, which inadvertently affects key decisions on women's issues and the welfare of women.

Women are major stakeholders in the development of any society. Women’s participation in leadership positions broadens the range of policies and the types of solutions that are considered, and strengthens the democracy of the country.
