Eliminating Violence Against Women and Girls

Violence against women is one of the world’s most prevalent human rights violations, taking place every day, many times over, in every corner of the globe. To date, efforts to eliminate violence against women and girls have mainly focused on responding and providing a safe space for survivors. However, prevention by addressing the structural causes, as well as the risk and protective factors, associated with violence, is pivotal to eliminating violence against women and girls completely.

BAOBAB for Women’s Human Rights has played a key role in providing programming guidance in the prevention of violence against women and girls. As an organization, we actively engage relevant stakeholders and the community at large to advocate the actualization of the rights of women and girls. In Africa at large, we organize workshops and conferences to enhance the capacities of women and men to recognise the manifestations of gender inequality and unequal power relations. In partnership with like minds, BAOBAB for Women’s Human Rights works to ensure that government and institutions prioritize the development and implementation of policies that protect women and girls.
