As the world marks Women’s History Month (March 1 - 31, 2025) and International Women’s Day (March 8, 2025), BAOBAB is launching an advocacy campaign under the theme "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations."
This year’s celebration highlights the vital role of women as educators, mentors, and catalysts for progress, while also recognizing the importance of allies in the fight for gender equality.
For decades, women have shaped history, yet their contributions have often been overlooked. Despite significant progress, women continue to face systemic barriers, including economic exclusion, gender-based violence, and limited leadership opportunities.
This year, BAOBAB is using its platforms to:

Live X Space event to commemorate International Women’s Day (March 10th, 2025) – Recognizing women’s rights, equality, and empowerment under the global theme: For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment and the discussion of the Maputo Protocol.
Launch of an E-Publication Honoring Male Allies in Women’s Rights – A special feature recognizing men-from donors and academics to industry figures and social media influencers who have actively supported gender equality
Letters to the Future Generation: Women from diverse backgrounds will share messages of wisdom and encouragement to inspire the next generation of female leaders. These letters will be published across BAOBAB’s social media and digital platforms throughout March.
